This picture was taken in Aug 2019. Like so many women, I didn’t know I had already started my menopause transition. Something was changing, but I didn’t know what or why. At 43 years old, menopause never even crossed my mind.
Nobody tells us about the life altering changes of the menopause transition and they certainly don’t warn us that perimenopause can start ten years (or more!!!) before actual menopause or that 70% of women experience moderate to severe symptoms at some point during this transition.
Without the knowledge and support from someone who’s been there, you might find yourself, as I did, on one of the scariest rides of your life.
Fast forward to today. My appearance has changed.
My hair is turning a beautiful snow white and I’ve put on a few pounds
It took five years, but I think I’m through the worst of it.
Now, I’m fulfilling the vow I made when my perimenopause symptoms were at their worst: to ensure no woman makes this journey alone again.
You may know what it’s like to lay awake at night, heart racing, terrified you weren’t going to wake up.
You’ve heard that little voice asking, “what if it’s dementia?” when you can’t remember simple words.
Perhaps you’ve felt the frustration that turns to anger when doctors dismiss your life-disrupting symptoms as “not that bad” or “just part of aging.”
Whether you’re just starting your menopause transition, in the thick of it, or have completed this journey, we’re here to support you through menopause and beyond.
I’ve navigated the roughest waters of perimenopause. If you find yourself adrift and uncertain of how to move forward, reach out. Together, we’ll chart a course toward calmer waters.
